About the Founding Attorney
Education
The Law Firm of Matthew Boney was founded by Matthew Boney. He obtained his B.S in Business Administration from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC. During his years of matriculation, he attended Duke School of Law, Wake Forest School of Law and Appalachian School of Law. During studies at Duke School of Law, he was in the top 33% of the class.
BACKGROUND
Attorney Boney began his passion for taxation at the age of 9 years old. Rather than playing with other kids, he found his happiness in spending countless hours reading IRS publications and studying the tax code.
For the past 21 years, Attorney Boney has represented individuals, partnerships and corporations before the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") and various governmental taxing authorities. He IS CONSIDERED AN EXPERT IN THE FIELD OF TAXATION AND has LOGGED over 25,000 hours of irs and department of revenue mediations.In addition to admission to the Bar, Attorney Boney is an Enrolled Agent, licensed to practice before the IRS. He is familiar with all aspects of the United States Tax Court Practice and Procedures. Attorney boney is fully admitted to practice before the us tax court in all 50 states and the district of columbia. What separates Attorney Boney from other lawyers is that he is fearless. He fears nothing…..and it’s evident in his courtroom representations.
Enrolled Agents
Enrolled Agents ("EA") are federally-licensed tax practitioners who may represent taxpayers before the IRS when it comes to collections, audits and appeals. As authorized by the Department of Treasury's Circular 230 regulations, EAs are granted unlimited practice rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS and are authorized to advise, represent, and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and any entities with tax-reporting requirements. Eas are the only federally-licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Criminal Law Experience
Attorney Boney HAS SIGNIFICANT FEDERAL criminal defense experience in a variety of AREAS including: tax evasion, insider trading, murder, human trafficking, kidnaping, armed robbery, illegal possession of firearm related charges and drug trafficking.

Personal Life
Matthew is SINGLE WITH NO CHILDREN. he's an avid runner and a professional kickboxer. Some of his personal accomplishments include: Martial Arts Tournament Champion (M.A.T.T.); Joe Corley’s Battle of Atlanta advanced light heavy-weight champion; John Chung’s Continuous Sparring Champion; Battle of the South Champion; Rick & Nikki Lee’s Beach Battle Champion.
